The VT Paper Recycling Program was a victim of university budget cuts in the summer of 2002. In September 2002, the EC began collecting paper in Burruss Hall. Now, the collection has grown to include over 30 academic buildings, and it has become a great volunteer project! The EC relies completely on student and faculty volunteers to collect paper.
Volunteering Information for Individuals
You can help the EC out directly by running around in the UGLY TRUCK (see pictures) once a week to collect paper from the loading docks of various campus buildings. You can also help indirectly by collecting paper inside each building and transporting it to the building loading dock. A different student organization collects inside each building.
To help even more, you can start a new building! (See 'schedules' for details)
To Join the Paper recyling list serv email listserv@listserv.vt.edu with "Subscribe paperrecycling" in the body.
Volunteering Information for Clubs / Groups
If you have a club or group that would like to start a recycling program in a particular building, we can facilitate your efforts and pick up the paper weekly in the Ugly Truck. If you are interested in collecting a building then contact Kim Kirkbride.

Schedules
Fridays - 12:15 at the Burruss Loading Dock.
Are you already running a recycling program for a particular building? Or would you like to simply come and ride in the ugly truck and help collect paper. Everyone is welcome to join us. We meet Friday afternoons at Burruss to collect paper. We are also going to have two times that people can meet us since we know there is lots of work to get done in the beginning of the year and that people will have conflicts no matter what time we pick to meet up.
If you have a conflict with these times and would like to still join us contact Kent at vtpaper@vt.edu
